Hong Kong greets 1.3 mln visits during Spring Festival holiday

(ECNS) -- Hong Kong received 1.3 million visits during the Chinese New Year holidays from Saturday to Friday (Feb. 10 to 16), with 1.14 million visits from the mainland, reaching the level in the same period in 2019, according to data from the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Sunday.
The average daily visitors to Hong Kong ranged from 128,000 to 208,000 during the seven days of this year's Spring Festival holiday. The total number of visits during the 7-days holiday in 2019 reached 1.4 million, with the fourth day visits from Chinese mainland hitting 250,000. International visits totaled nearly 160,000 this year, the department said.
Of the 1.23 million visits to the Macao Special Administrative Region, 950,000 were from the mainland, accounting for 77 percent of the total visits.
Macao saw 220,000 visitors from Hong Kong, accounting for 17.9 percent of the total number of tourists visiting Macao, with more than 41,000 visitors on peak day falling on Feb. 12.
